The Palace on Wheels is India’s original luxury train that is frequently refurbished. On rolling back wheels of time, we find the rulers of princely states of Rajputana, Gujarat, the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India traveled by these luxurious coaches.
After independence, these coaches were parked and remained in this state for a quarter of a century until…
The train has 14 guest carriages, which all are decorated with a distinct motif evocative of erstwhile Rajputana clan after which they are named. Each cabin is equipped with live television, air conditioning, internet connectivity, channel music, safe and attached bathrooms.
For physically challenged passengers, wheelchairs, crèches and a special attendant for assistance are also available onboard Palace on Wheels.
